Road Rage Turns in Aggravated Assault in Volusia County
By Tracey Kagan
I am truly surprised that there aren’t more cases of road rage in Central Florida considering how bad traffic can get on local roadways. A recent case of road rage in Volusia County took a turn for the worse when an elderly man decided to take matters into his own hands. According to Wesh 2 News in Orlando, Herbert Golden, 71 years old, allegedly pulled a loaded gun on a group of women driving in front of him in Ormond Beach. Mr. Holden apparently became very upset for some reason while driving behind the women and even allegedly even tried to run them off the road at one point. Unfortunately for Mr. Holden, his temper has him facing four separate aggravated assault charges for each of the women involved.
Aggravated Assault Charges in Volusia
Irregardless of whether or not Mr. Holden is found guilty of aggravated assault or not, he should seriously consider taking some anger management classes. Aggravated Assault is considered a 3rd Degree Felony and if he is found guilty of all four charges, then he could face up to 20 years in prison and have to pay up to $20, 000 in fines. At his age, this could be a life sentence for Mr. Holden. He is going to need to present a very strong criminal defense case and may consider getting some advice from an experienced assault charge lawyer.
