Don’t Get a DUI Charge in Orlando for the Holidays – Orlando DUI Lawyer

December 29, 2012

It’s the most festive time of the year and with festivities come increased alcohol consumption. The Orlando Police Department realizes this and are out looking for those driving under the influence (DUI) in the Orlando area. If you live in Orlando and plan on attending a party, going out to a club, or just drinking alcoholic beverages at home, then make sure that you do not attempt to drive a car after drinking too much alcohol. According to Bianca Prieto of the Orlando Sentinel, the Orlando Police Department has put together a special DUI unit that focuses mainly on finding drivers that are guilty of driving under the influence. Normally the OPD DUI unit prowls Orlando’s streets looking for DUI suspects between 8pm and 4am on Thursdays and Fridays, however, during the holidays, this unit will also be out enforcing Florida DUI Laws on Saturday as well. Since Christmas and New Years both fall on days earlier in the week this year, you can bet that the OPD DUI Unit will be out making DUI arrests on those nights as well. Don’t underestimate the effectiveness of the OPD DUI Unit because they have made almost 300 DUI arrests in 2012. You can easily start off your New Year with a Florida DUI Charge if you are not careful. A DUI Charge could cost you your Florida Drivers License as well as your freedom.
